SNF water treatment products include powders, emulsions, liquids, dispersants, and beads that are produced with various chemical properties (anionic, non-ionic, and cationic) and many different molecular forms (linear, branched, cross-linked, comb, and star). Our knowledge of combining these different characteristics allows us to tailor our products to specific applications and requirements of end-users.
In addition to polyacrylamide, SNF produces related specialty chemicals, such as coagulants, primarily used in water treatment. In water treatment, coagulation is the result of the addition of chemical reagents to water suspensions where the dispersed colloidal particles are assembled in larger aggregates called flocs or microflocs.
Flocculants, with their very high molecular weights (long monomer chain) and their charge content, fix the destabilized particles and aggregates along the polymer chain. There follows, during the flocculation step, an increase in the size of the particles present in the water phase resulting in the formation of flocs.
Antifoams prevent and suppress foam formation in processes. SNF offers a range of antifoam agents that can be used in all processing stages to prevent and reduce foaming.
