An opportunity has arisen at our Production Facility in Billingham for an additional Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the team. This is a full time, permanent position.
In this role you will be a member of the EC&I team operating on an Upper Tier COMAH production facility, always ensuring a safe and environmentally compliant operation whilst supporting the production teams in meeting production targets.
The key duties and responsibilities of this role will include the following: –
- Complying with the site’s safe working practices.
- Following routine and preventative maintenance programs.
- Undertake appropriate preventative maintenance checks during planned production downtime to ensure that the equipment and machinery are available for production.
- Work to solve equipment issues using effective fault diagnosis skills and implement immediate containment, together with longer term innovative solutions.
- Accurately record all relevant activities on maintenance software.
- Liaise with other site departments to organise maintenance work.
- Liaise with specialist maintenance companies working on site.
- Liaise with contractors who are conducting maintenance and modification work on site.
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of the central engineering stores.
- Undertake the commissioning and installation of new equipment as required to support new production or the improvement of current processes.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Reports directly to the Electrical Supervisor.
Education, skills, and Experience required: –
- Completed an industry recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
- ONC / HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and demonstrative experience in a similar role.
- COMPEX qualified for EX01 to EX04 is desirable.
- BS7671: Requirement for Electrical Installations 2018 (18th Edition).
- Ability to problem solve, be naturally inquisitive and possess good diagnostic skills.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work on own initiative.
- Capability to read P&ID’s and equipment drawings.
- Working knowledge of MS Office.

To support our succession planning in conjunction with our aggressive growth period and increase in activities within operations, a great opportunity has arisen for a Process Operator to join our Production team, operating on an Upper Tier COMAH production facility in Billingham.
The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the chemical manufacturing plant, adhering to the Company’s established operating policies and procedures.
The post holder will also have the responsibility for carrying out their own in-process testing and problem solving to maximise productivity & continuous improvement.
This role will report into the Process Supervisor and will follow a 12-hour day / night shift pattern, Monday
to Saturday morning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate daily tasks in a safe manner, following all company policies and procedures.
• Perform startups, operation, and shutdowns of the manufacturing plant from the control room Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Ensure products meet all quality specifications and carry out any in-process testing.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across the site.
• Continuously monitor and inspect all key process points, looking for any abnormality and taking appropriate action as required.
• Accurately record all relevant activities.
• Stay up to date with all training requirements as identified in the job holders training plan.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required:
• Minimum – GCSE (Grades A-C/9-4) in Maths, English and a Science subject (or equivalent).
• A recognised Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Chemical Processes or similar (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Good mechanical aptitude and equipment trouble shooting capability.
• Ability to pass and attain forklift truck certification.
• Previous experience working with Distributed Control System (preferred).
• Can learn and work effectively with the plants Distributed Control System.
• Proficient IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to work on own initiative and attention to detail is essential.

• Salary £34,400 plus 18% Shift Allowance per annum
