SNF’s Gulf Coast production facilities (Plaquemine, LA and Pearlington, MS) experienced site-wide electrical outages and some minor flooding during the landfall of Hurricane Ida on Sunday, August 29, 2021.  However, neither site received any major damage to equipment or structures.  This exceptional outcome was possible due to the excellent preparation by our employees ahead of the storm’s arrival.

As of 8 am Eastern time on Tuesday, August 31, our Plaquemine facility has restored its electrical power but is waiting for our nitrogen supplier to restart service to the site before it can resume full operations.  Our Pearlington site has its power restored and is in the process of restarting the plant.  Both facilities are shipping finished goods via truck, but rail service is still limited at both locations due to external rail providers not being back to full service yet.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter as we strive to minimize any delays or disruptions this may cause our customers.

Additional updates will be forthcoming as information becomes available.
